For 25 years, Shelia was the heart of Valley West Veterinary Hospital.
She was the first voice so many families heard when they called with a new puppy, a sick cat, or a broken heart. She was the steady presence at the front desk on the hardest days and the warm smile on the happiest ones. As a Customer Service Representative, she didn’t just answer phones or schedule appointments — she welcomed people in, calmed fears, and made everyone feel like they mattered.
Shelia had a way of loving both people and animals that felt effortless and genuine. She remembered names. She remembered stories. She remembered what mattered to you. And she showed up every single day with dedication and care.
She also kept us grounded in what truly matters. She would remind us often,
“The job will always be here, your babies won’t be — spend time with them while they’re little.”
That was Shelia — hardworking, but always reminding us that family comes first.
And if you worked alongside her, you’ll hear her voice forever:
“Get out of my chair.”
“I need more coffee for this.”
“Listen, Linda.”
“This is not your work area.”

Those words made us laugh, kept us in line, and made this hospital feel like home.
Her chair may be empty now, but the space she filled in this hospital — and in our hearts — never will be.
We miss her deeply. We are grateful beyond words for the 25 years she gave to this practice and to our community. The compassion, humor, strength, and kindness she shared will live on in the way we care for every family who walks through our doors.
Shelia will always be part of the Valley West Veterinary family.
