Dr. Amy Isaac

Veterinarian

Dr. Amy Isaac received her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2002. After spending her childhood riding horses and competing in combined training and dressage, Dr. Isaac was inspired to stay on at UGA for an additional year as a large animal intern. She met her husband, Dr. Tom Isaac, while in school. After completing her internship, she moved to Charleston and began work at the practice.

Dr. Isaac's interests are now primarily in small animal medicine with an emphasis on dentistry and pain management. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. She is active in an online dentistry focus group with colleagues around the world to stay on the cutting edge of quality dentistry, and she incorporates her innovative findings into her practice. She also has an interest in the One Health Initiative, which focuses on the association between human and animal health.

Together with Dr. Tom Isaac, she has three boys, two cats, two dogs, and two horses. She enjoys reading, exercising, and watching Georgia football. She is also an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Charleston, through which she has participated in 2 medical mission trips to Haiti (human, not veterinary!) and has fallen in love with the people of Haiti. She and Tom now sponsor two children in Haiti, and she hopes to return for another mission trip next year.
